2010 Buffalo Youth Media Institute: Buffalo Life Stories
The 2010 Buffalo Youth Media Institute screening will be 3pm, Sunday, June 13th at the Burchfield Penney Art Center.

The Buffalo Youth Media Institute is a community history and youth media program targeting the diverse population of young people living in Buffalo and surrounding areas. Students are selected through a competitive application process. Combining media production, media literacy, and cultural studies in a 6 month curriculum, our youth producers work with professional filmmakers and members of the community to create their own self-directed documentaries about Buffalo. Each year the Buffalo Youth Media Institute chooses a theme that allows students to explore local history, culture and social issues. This year’s theme is Buffalo Life Stories and each student, or pair of students, will choose a local person of interest as the focus of their documentary.
