Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Arts Center is seeking a qualified media arts teacher for Buffalo Youth Media Institute Summer workshop. Candidates should have professional media arts experience in camera operations and audio recording, video editing and audio mixing, graphic design and animation, knowledge of art history, film, and contemporary media art, as well as teaching experience with strong pedagogical skill sets for this position.
Desired skill sets include:
- Video Production & Post-Production (proficiency in prosumer level camera operations, and Premiere, Final Cut Pro and Consumer software)
- Audio Production & Post-Production (proficiency in prosumer level audio recording, and ProTools, Audacity and Consumer software)
- Experience teaching high school age youth and/or young adults
- New media production skills (ideal, but not required)
- NYS Teaching Certification (ideal, but not required)
Preference will be given to those who demonstrate cultural competence and a strong desire to explore various social & economic issues. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday between 12pm – 5pm beginning July 10th, 2017 and running through August 17th 2017.
The Buffalo Youth Media Institute, established in 2005, works in partnership with the Buffalo Center for Arts & Technology to build social capital through the cultivation of critical thinking and 21st century skills. Through videos, lectures, critiques and hands on demonstrations, students explore facets of Greater Buffalo behind the lens of a camera.
