Squeaky Wheel’s Urban Drive-In will Transform Silo City into a GIANT Outdoor Movie Theater!

On Saturday, October 10th, Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Arts Center and Silo City will transform the industrial grain elevator complex into an Urban Drive-In movie theater for one day only! This FREE outdoor event boasts a line-up of movies from noon to midnight on a gigantic LED movie screen, courtesy of Indigo Productions, enabling maximum screen brightness in broad daylight. Attendees are encouraged to bring comfortable seating, picnic baskets, beverages, blankets and a sweater (it does get windy at this location).

For those interested in a closer look at the Silo City Complex, Explore Buffalo is offering a Silo City: Ground Level Tour, which ends right before the first movie, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, begins. Tickets are $15, $5 for students. These tours are an intimate way to experience the monumental scale of these grain elevators, constructed in the first half of the 20th century, and offers unique opportunities for photographers. Brunch will be available by food truck, post-tour. This is a perfect pairing of events to unwind on a summer afternoon! This event is generously funded by the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation, administered by Arts Services Initiative through the Buffalo River Funds, Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, and M&T Bank.
