SUMMARY:Digital Art and Technology Access Fall 2025
DESCRIPTION:DATA is a media arts and technology program designed for neurodivergent individuals (such as individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder\, ADHD\, dyslexia\, dyspraxia\, etc.) ages 13-19. A series of year-round workshops builds creative and social skills. Students learn a range of media-based practices to suit all interests in technology and art.\nIn DATA we provide a minimum 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio\, noise-canceling headphones\, snacks\, and a separate sensory-friendly space outside the classroom for breaks. Our patient and passionate instructors have extensive experience working with neurodivergent teens\, and all have relevant combined training and/or degrees in fields like fine art\, special education and social work. \nDATA is now by sliding scale tuition with no one turned away for lack of funds. Do you love making things\, and experimenting with new ideas\, new software\, and new equipment? Are you interested in things like (but not limited to) video\, animation\, digital illustration\, sound editing\, creative coding\, game design\, digital photography?  Do you want to spend your Saturday afternoons working on exciting new projects\, meeting other teen artists\, and working with amazing guest artists and mentors? Then Saturday Cafe might be the place for you! \n\nApply by October 17\, 2024 11:59 pm\n  \nFall 2024 dates:\nOctober 12 – December 14 (no class Nov 30)\nSaturdays 1:30-4:30 pm\n  \nThe October 12 class will be a meet & greet and info session for new applicants.\nWe will also attend the Next Gen youth screening of the Buffalo Int’l Film Festival.\nCan’t make it October 12?
