Miko Revereza’s acclaimed feature documentary No Data Plan features a narrator rehashing details about his mother’s affair as he crosses America by train. “Mama has two phone numbers. We do not talk about immigration on her Obama phone. For that we use the other number with no data plan.” Taking place entirely within a three day trip upon a train—including a tense stop near Buffalo—Revereza’s film evokes images and thoughts from far away, illustrating an undocumented subjectivity, a site of precarious movement, migration, and fugitivism in the United States.
