Call for Applications: Acting Director

Buffalo, NY: Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Art Center seeks a temporary Acting Director to take over Director responsibilities during maternity leave for 12 weeks + training.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Staff supervision
  • Administrative duties
  • Financial maintenance
  • Payroll
  • Program & Event coordination / supervision
  • Communication coordination

 

This is a part-time, temporary position from mid-April to mid-July 2019.

Compensation: Approximately $6000 for 12 weeks P/T commitment + training

Additional compensation may be available for candidates with grant writing experience.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Understanding financial reporting
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office & G-Suite (e.g. GoogleDocs, Google Sheets)
  • Familiarity with non-profit management and working with boards
  • Interpersonal skills


Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of: Quickbooks Online, FileMaker Pro, E-commerce platforms
  • Grant writing experience
  • Familiarity with media arts field and/or arts administration
  • Public relations

Call for Applications: Fund Development Coordinator

Buffalo, NY: Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Art Center seeks a Fund Development Coordinator to implement the organization’s annual development plan and cultivate a culture of philanthropy. Working closely with the Executive Director, the successful candidate will carry out strategies and systems for achieving the organization’s financial goals, including developing varied sources of income, cultivating donor engagement, and increasing retention of donors and overall giving.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Donor stewardship and communications
  • Soliciting individual donors and corporate sponsors
  • Maintaining donor management database
  • Coordinating special events
  • Liaising with Board committees

 

This is a part-time position funded for the term of March 2019–February 2020, with potential renewal.

Compensation: $25,000 / year, plus benefits      

The ideal candidate will have measurable success in all of the areas below:

  • Raising support from individuals,  major donors, and sponsors
  • Special events
  • Using social media to increase giving and awareness.
  • Fundraising and growth mindset

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Non-profit business management, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of G-Suite (e.g. Google Docs/Sheets) Microsoft Office
  • Ability to think strategically and partner with key leadership.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
