CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: LOCAL YOUTH SHORTS, Buffalo International Film Festival

DEADLINE EXTENDED – JULY 24th!

Young Filmmakers, join us this fall at the Buffalo International Film Festival! Squeaky Wheel Film and Media Art Center and BIFF are seeking new, creative works for our Local Student showcase. Local filmmakers under 18 can submit work under 15 minutes for FREE – the best films, chosen by Squeaky Wheel’s youth jury will play on the big screen, Saturday, October 12 at the Buffalo International Film Festival!

Filmmakers chosen by the jury will receive their own BIFF filmmaker badge, have access to all BIFF screenings, walk the red carpet at the North Park Theatre and participate in a post-screening Q & A with the audience!

 

Submission Guidelines:

  • Principal Filmmakers must be under 18 years old at the time of making the film
  • If you are submitting for a student please contact kevin@squeaky.org for details
  • Films can be no longer than 15 minutes including titles and credits
  • Excerpts of longer works will be considered
  • All submissions must be either Vimeo or YouTube link
  • Selected Filmmakers will be asked to provide a screener version of their film.

About the Jury:

Our Youth Jury is comprised of 6 students from all of our flagship media arts programs. They are all filmmakers with years of experience watching and making media arts & film.
