Evan Meaney – Works on View
June 20, 2015 @ 7:00 pm– September 5, 2015 @ 5:00 pm EDT

Currently on view: Works by founding member of GLI.TC/H, South Carolina based artist Evan Meaney. This exhibition is part of the Hollis Frampton exhibit on view at Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Art Center and CEPA Gallery June 20-September 5. Meaney’s interactive installation, Ceibas: Epilogue-The Well of Representation, features a repurposing of hacked 16-bit video game technology displayed on collected old TV monitors as a contemporary remake of Hollis Frampton’s Gloria! (1979). In addition to the public storefront exhibition of Ceibas: Epilogue-The Well of Representation, audiences will be able to interact with a homemade video game entitled /Le.mon: a remediation game, based off of Hollis Framptons’s iconic 1969 filmic light study, Lemon.
During his visit, Evan is conducting a free master class, Glitches & Ghosts, covering topics related to Glitch Art on Wednesday, June 17, from 6-9pm at Squeaky Wheel. The workshop is $5, free for Squeaky Wheel members. To register for the workshop, email kevin@squeaky.org or call 716-884-7172. Evan will also present a public lecture on his work and study of Hollis Frampton on June 20 (8:30pm) inside Squeaky Wheel’s microcinema.
